Primus - the most beautiful Kormoran

Kormoran with Bimini

We often hear that the Kormoran is the most beautiful charter boat in Europe. The comfortable steel-displacement boats were specially designed for KUHNLE-TOURS. At first they were only used for our German boating areas but now we also offer them in France and in Poland. They are very easy to navigate and offer a very high level of comfort with 1.95 m headroom in every part of the boat.

The traditional form fits well into the old canals and rivers around Europe and they offer a great contrast to the usual charter boats. The Kormoran 940, 1140, 1280 and 1500 are the newer models which are now being built in the Kuhnle-Shipyard at the Müritz (Mecklenburg Lakes).

Cabins and bathrooms
You can choose between one-, two-, three- or four-cabin-boats. All berths are 2 m long,  singles 70 cm and doubles 1.40 m wide. The berths in those cabins with two singles (stern and middle cabin on Kormoran 1140 and 1280, all cabins of Kormoran 1500) can be easily changed into a double berth.

Each cabin has a bathroom, some en-suite. Every bathroom is fitted with toilet, shower and sink with hot and cold water. They all have a plug-in for electric razors.

The saloon

The saloon of a Kormoran offers as much comfort as possible. Large windows all around the saloon enable splendid views of the waterways even from the inside steering position. There is a lot of storage possibilities and the table can be transformed into a double-berth. The Kormoran 1280 and 1500 feature a second fridge which is placed in the saloon. This is ideal for drinks or perishable goods you might want to have right next to the table.

Cooking on board with a nice view

The pantry
We wager that your pantry on board the Kormoran will be almost as well equipped as your kitchen at home; dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and all cooking utensils are neatly stowed away and can be easily accessed. A high-grade steel sink supplies cold and hot water and the fridge (two fridges on the Kormoran 1280 and 1500) provides enough space for all perishable food. The gas-cooker is easy to handle and if you are only used to electric cookers it won't take long to get used to.

The equipment
Bow thruster
All the Kormorans are fitted with a bow thruster. These are small propellers that work sideways making it easier to manoeuver a boat. You can operate them at both steering positions.

The Kormoran boats are equipped with a 12-Volt-car-plug-in for your mobile or other electrical appliances. The Kormoran 940, 1140, 1280 and 1500 are fitted with hot-water-heating, the other boats have hot-air-heating. Another advantage: large tanks for fuel and water. The content will last at least a couple of days. This depends on the level of usage.

The nautical equipment includes an echo sounder (in Germany and Poland only) and an operation board (in the Rügen and Bodden boating area it also includes a GPS). All Kormoran boats have two steering positions: one on the large sun deck and one in the saloon.

The Kormoran 940, 1140, 1280 and 1500 is fitted with a bow thruster for easier navigation. In addition all boats have a bow anchor with winch (in Germany and Poland a second anchor with a line).

The clearance is 2.84 m. The draught is 0.75 m. Around the sun deck at the stern there is a sturdy Niro railing, the gang boards on either side and at the bow have a small brim so that you won't skid.

All the Kormoran boats have a platform at the back, but the Kormoran 940, 1140, 1280 and 1500 have a very low bathing platform with an outdoor hot and cold water shower.
