"Riviera of the north": Rügen and Bodden
UNESCO World Heritage: Historic Centre of Stralsund
Landscape
The island of Rügen is known by various nicknames; the 'Riviera of the North‘, the 'Channel coast of the East’. The seemingly endless white beaches, the imperial baths with their great architecture of the late 19th century and the white cliffs are all located on one side of the island. On the other side, the interior waterways called 'Bodden‘ provide peaceful boating areas with a wide variety of attractions; quiet bays and beaches, little fishing villages with well-equipped harbours, smaller and bigger islands, nature parks and the big cities of the 'Hanse‘ with numerous attractions to explore. This region gives boaters plenty of possibilities and our well-equipped base in Stralsund is right in the centre.
